Focusing on life science, healthcare and DeepTech, the business is being steered locally by Dr Jerry Wu, who has become Managing Director having played a key role in establishing and growing the biotech incubator for TusPark at Cambridge Science Park.

LongRiver was founded by Jiang Zhang, the former CEO and founding partner of Ping An Ventures – one of the world’s top five insurance giants.

It successfully closed its maiden fund at $385 million in July 2024 with support from leading European and Asian insurance companies, asset management firms and what Dr Wu calls funds-of-funds. Dr Wu said: “All capital was garnered from France and Singapore and 80 per cent of contributors are top international insurance companies.”

The founding team has more than eight years of synergy and experience investing in technology. Over the past 10 years the team has raised multiple funds and invested in more than 40 healthcare and tech companies worldwide, almost half of which have been listed on domestic and overseas stock markets.
