UK ClimateTech saw a 24 per cent increase in 2024 to reach a total of £4.5 billion, while UK-based AI ClimateTech firms saw a 128 per cent increase in investment to hit a total of £1.01 billion, according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

As ClimateTech companies begin to eye territories outside the US to launch and scale – thanks to the likely changes to the Inflation Reduction act incoming under the Trump administration – investors with a desire to put their money behind high impact technologies with strong potential for growth are eyeing the UK and Europe for investment, where conditions may be more favourable.

The Carbon13 SEIS Fund VII event will introduce investors to one of Cambridge’s leading ClimateTech-focused venture builders. Its latest fund will invest in pre-seed companies that are expected to be eligible for SEIS, and enable investors to claim a suite of tax reliefs.

These include 50 per cent income tax relief on up to £200,000 invested, and 50 per cent exemption from capital gains that arise in the same year, in addition to inheritance tax relief and loss relief. Tax reliefs are subject to status and change.

The Cambridge event will include a presentation on the new fund and a Q&A, followed by an evening of networking and stimulating discussion. You'll be able to connect with the teams and find out why this fund is proving so interesting to investors, and why now is a very exciting time for climatetech investment in the UK.
