Mills & Reeve takes number of partners to 185

Law firm Mills & Reeve has promoted eight of its principal associates to partner – increasing the number of partners to 185. The promotions take effect from the start of June and span various sectors.

Mills & Reeve has now also achieved its goal of increasing the percentage of women partners to 33 per cent (two years ahead of schedule). From June 1, women will comprise 40 per cent of total partners, with five more women joining the partnership in the latest round of promotions. The new partners are:

• Rebecca Cockerill – a commercial employment lawyer, advising private sector clients on the full range of employment and people issues.

• Edward Freeman – a construction lawyer with a particular expertise in complex transactions, especially in the areas of senior living, retail, residential and regeneration.

• Siân Jackson – an employment lawyer specialising in the education sector.

• Laura Ludlow – will focus on the growth of the Oxford-based real estate practice.

• David Phillips – will work alongside Eileen Pathiraja to expand the London insurance team’s construction offering.

• Emma Plaxton – a corporate lawyer, supporting clients on a wide range of general corporate work, with a particular expertise in acting for listed companies.

• Neil Shah – specialises in defending/resolving claims against other lawyers.

• Ania Tarasiewicz – a specialist family lawyer and mediator advising on all aspects of family law.
