Pavegen steps back into the crowd for fresh funding

It is seeking to raise £750,000 on Crowdcube as part of a campaign to scale the business, increase headcount, and expand operations. Previous crowdfundings on Crowdcube have been successful, with Pavegen raising almost £2 million n October 2023.
Now, in response to London Climate Action Week, it has launched the first of three major activations across London, showcasing the future of clean energy, climate action and smart city engagement.
It has a bold environmental goal: to plant a forest the size of Wimbledon’s Centre Court, equivalent to 1,000 trees, sequestering an estimated 1,000 tonnes of CO₂ over their lifetime. Every 200 steps on a Pavegen floor is said to generate enough energy to plant one tree.
The new campaign starts at 22 Bishopsgate, the second-tallest building in London, and a flagship for smart urban innovation.
Then it will go live at Old Spitalfields Market, one of London’s most vibrant retail and cultural hubs where Pavegen is inviting the public to 'Step Up for Climate Change' - turning footsteps into clean energy and energy into trees.
And it is delivering a fan engagement experience at one of the world’s most iconic sporting events – The Championships, Wimbledon for Barclays, in partnership with M&C Saatchi. To help convert its momentum and pipeline, it has launched the crowd fundraising campaign.
Pavegen has already delivered kinetic tech in 45+ countries, with partners including Google, UEFA, BMW, Ford, and national governments. Now, with its first MEGA project live in Riyadh, and momentum growing across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the US, it is opening the doors to early access - hence the new crowdfunding campaign.
