Plextek appoints Vicky Larmour as new engineering chief

With over 30 years of experience in technology consultancy, Larmour has experience leading teams of more than 250 people across the US, Singapore, and Cambridge.
She now tackles a new challenge as head of Plextek’s multidisciplinary engineering function team, which includes software, hardware, RF, and project management specialists.
Throughout her career, Larmour has specialised in wireless communication systems, notably in embedded software for satellite communications, low power devices, and highly constrained systems. Alongside her technical expertise, she has significant leadership experience, organisational change management and a deep commitment to people development.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the brilliant team here at Plextek. Throughout my career, I’ve worked on a multitude of projects including wireless heart monitors, smart meters and a whole family of satellite communications terminals and I'm excited to bring this experience to Plextek.
“We’ve got some fantastic people here - seriously bright minds solving very challenging (but enjoyable) problems. From a leadership perspective, that’s incredibly exciting.
“When I saw that Plextek was hiring for this role, it felt as though the position was written specifically for me. It was clear they were looking for someone to come in and really make a difference and I felt strongly that I could do that."
Plextek CEO Brent Hudson added: “Vicky’s extensive experience in the technology consultancy sector makes her the perfect fit for this role and we are confident she will be instrumental in driving our strategic initiatives and expanding our market presence. We are excited to see what the future has to hold.”
