Prism Corporate Broking advises EPS on Herrington acquisition
Cambridgeshire M & A specialist Prism Corporate Broking advised Cambridge geotechnical and environmental engineer, Environmental Protection Strategies (EPS) on its acquisition of environmental impact assessor Herrington Consulting.
East of England law firms also advised on the deal. Phillips Dempsey Ltd (Cambridge) represented EPS; Max Engel & Co LLP (Northampton) acted for Herrington.
EPS is a geotechnical and environmental consultancy based in Cambridge, Leeds and Bristol. It provides assessments and planning support for the management and compliance of various risks related to developments, such as ground condition, flood risk, materials management and air quality.
Herrington is based in Canterbury and London and specialises in coastal engineering, flood risk management, numerical modelling and daylight/sunlight analysis.
The firm provides impact assessments and engineering solutions for new building and highway developments. The acquisition is a strategic move to combine expertise and provide EPS’s existing development and retail sector client base with an enhanced offering of pre-construction consultancy services.
Prism, based in Newmarket, has many years of experience in helping people to buy and sell businesses. The team worked closely with EPS throughout the acquisition process – from identifying suitable target businesses, through due diligence and managing negotiations, to the successful deal completion.
Will Evans, founding director of EPS, says: “Our intention has always been to ‘grow interesting’, both as a business and as individuals, with a clear coherent strategy based on developing additional opportunities with existing key national clients, provision of new high quality complimentary services, extension of our geographic footprint and collaboration with other like-minded organisations.
“The opportunity with Herrington Consulting sits particularly well with that strategy and is tremendously exciting.”
