Churchmanor Estates Plc has submitted a full planning application to West Suffolk Council for the construction of seven new business units on Zone 1 of the park located on the eastern edge of Bury St Edmunds, junction 45 of the A14.

The scheme, if granted, will create some 217,000 sq ft over 16 acres. The proposed buildings will provide space for light industrial use, storage, R & D and office-based employment and are designed to attract a wide range of growing businesses to the region.

The site sits directly next to the award-winning Avant Tecno UK headquarters, completed by Churchmanor last year and further reinforcing the park’s growing reputation as a thriving hub for business and innovation.

The new development is expected to create many local jobs, both during construction and long-term. It builds on the success of previous phases of Suffolk Business Park, which has already attracted national and regional employers thanks to its excellent transport links and investment in high-quality facilities.

Churchmanor’s application includes proposals for green landscaping, cycle paths, and sustainable building features that aim to make the park a pleasant, accessible place to work.

“We’re proud to be investing further in Bury St Edmunds,” said Matt Cloke, Development Director at Churchmanor Estates. “This new phase will support local employment, attract innovative companies, and help secure long-term prosperity for the local community.”

The plans follow detailed discussions with West Suffolk Council and reflect feedback from earlier consultations to ensure the design is both sensitive to the surrounding area and fit for the future.
