The partnership demonstrates Genie AI's credibility as an industry-standard tool, providing both students and professionals across multiple disciplines (not just law) with access to legal knowledge and services.

The collaboration empowers law students to master practical skills needed to excel in modern in-house counsel and private-practice roles, shifting their future role from legal operator to strategic business enabler.

A leader in practical legal education, Charleston School of Law is proactively addressing a fundamental shift in the legal industry. Charleston Law stated 88.84 per cent of its Class of 2024 graduates were employed 10 months after graduation; of those graduates, 57.5 per cent were employed in law firms and 22.7 per cent in public interest positions, reflecting Charleston School of Law’s commitment to preparing practice-ready lawyers who serve both the profession and their communities.

“Ignoring AI is not an option for the legal profession,” said Charleston Law Director of the Center for Business and Transactional Law Jean Steadman.

“By embedding a sophisticated tool like Genie AI into our curriculum, we aren't just teaching technology; we're honing core legal skills like drafting, critical analysis, and issue-spotting in a real-world context. Our graduates will enter the workforce with the practical skills and experience to not only succeed but to bring immediate, strategic value to their organisations.”

Genie AI’s openness, proprietary legal editor, autonomous legal agents, and unmatched database of market-standard contract language uniquely position it to prepare students for this new legal landscape, where in-house roles demand agility, strategic insight, and technological proficiency.

“Legal services are shifting rapidly from firms to businesses themselves,” said Genie AI CEO Rafie Faruq. “Our collaboration with Charleston School of Law embodies this shift, preparing the next generation of lawyers to drive business success through technology. Genie AI equips students with the skills to lead, not just follow, the future of legal transactions.”

The Transactional Law Team will integrate AI into their dynamic curriculum, which is built to simulate real-world legal practice. Working together with Genie’s technology, the team members will draft, negotiate, and redline contracts, preparing them well to compete across the US in national competitions and excel in their future careers.

This latest partnership marks a new standard in the education sector, with AI being fully integrated into curriculums to prepare students for the future world of work. Genie AI is paving the way, equipping learners across multiple disciplines, from law to aspiring business founders, with the tools, skills, and practical experience needed to succeed in tomorrow’s professional landscape.

Backed by $20 million from Google Ventures, Khosla Ventures and leading lawyers, Genie AI scales from self-serve plans for small teams to enterprise deployments in 40 + languages. Today over 150,000 companies worldwide rely on Genie to close deals with confidence.

The young company was shortlisted for the recent Business Weekly Awards and is scaling fast.
