Springboard Cambridge 2011 is open for business

Late this morning, ten teams from Cambridge and beyond settled into their new home in ideaSpace to take part in the 13 week acceleration programme that is Springboard.

We have been keen to ensure that there is a broad mix of teams and founders to create an interesting dynamic; including – geographic, age, sector type, experience and evolution in the business. But there is one common theme throughout and it is not digital, it is entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of any economy, but they are a very rare breed and should be cherished. They are typically dysfunctional and their mothers ask them “when are you going to get a real job”. I don’t know what a collective of entrepreneurs is, but we have created one. This micro-cluster of entrepreneurs have relocated themselves to ideaSpace in Cambridge to work alongside other like minded entrepreneurs and through the next 3 months they will create lifetime friendships and build their businesses. Over the next 13 weeks, we will be writing a daily blog to help provide some insight about the programme, the teams and the mentors taking part.
